Join us at the National Composites Centre

TheNonExec invites you to the NAtional Composite Centre on 29 OCT 19

A fantastic opportunity for you to take an insider tour of this World-Class facility, home of the UK’s high-tech composite engineering R&D centre on TUESDAY 29 OCT 19. We are delighted to be sponsoring this event, which is the second in a series of Technology & Innovation events hosted by Dorset Chamber. This event is promoting emerging technologies and manufacturing excellence.

The National Composites Centre (NCC) at Bristol and Bath Science Park is one of seven centres that form the UK’s High Value Manufacturing Catapult (HVMC). The Government highlighted the importance of composites to the future of UK manufacturing and proposed plans for ensuring that the UK has the means to succeed in intensely competitive global markets, see UK Composites Strategy.

The NCC works globally to accelerate the adoption of high-value, sustainable engineering solutions in composites. The day will offer an exciting opportunity to learn more about the development and implementation of composite manufacturing technologies and systems.

The exclusive behind the scenes tour of this high-tech composite engineering R&D will include: Material testing facilities, automated fibre placement machines, non-destructive testing cell, machining cells, curing area, high volume manufacturing area (including new injection overmoulder and the world’s largest open access composite press), clean room facilities, overbraider, training centre and more!
(*subject to commercial sensitivity on the day)

This is a rare opportunity to tour the facilities and to meet with leading experts seeking to solve the world’s most complex engineering challenges.

There will be introductions led by Graham Harrison (Director of Strategic Partnerships) and Leah Rider (Technology Programme Manager – NCC Connect). Following the tour leading engineers will present case studies of projects and there will be time for Q&A.
